The 587th issue of ProcessWire Weekly brings in all the latest news from the ProcessWire community. Modules, sites, and more. Read on!
Welcome to the latest issue of ProcessWire Weekly. In this week's issue we're thrilled to share a project that has been going on for a while now, and finally we have something to show for it: the all-new processwire.com website! Designed by Jan Ploch and Diogo Oliveira of KONKAT Studio, the new site is a huge milestone, bringing our public facing website on par with our new admin theme. More about this in just a bit.
In other news, this week we've also got a new weekly poll for you folks, and as always we are also going to highlight a new site of the week. This week said site is called Liikuntavinkit, and it belongs to a Finnish association dedicated to supporting the joint work of regional sports organizations in Finland, Suomen Liikunnan Alueet ry.
Thanks to all of our readers for being here with us again, and as always, any feedback is most welcome – please don't hesitate to drop us a line if there's anything in your mind you'd like to share with us. Enjoy our latest issue and have a great weekend!
New ProcessWire website!
This week we are thrilled to announce that we now have a new ProcessWire website up at processwire.com! The site was designed by Jan Ploch and Diogo Oliveira of KONKAT Studio from Hamburg, Germany, while the development was done by Ryan.

The design of our new website is in line with the new admin theme style, which was also created by KONKAT Studio. As Ryan points out in his post this is the first time that we've had such synergy between our admin and the marketing and documentation site. This does make a lot of sense in our context, and it also means that e.g. screenshots of the admin interface will fit right in with the site's new design.
The site, much like the admin theme, is modern, timeless, and undeniably unique — there's a lot that can be done for a design without making it complex or convoluted, and Jan and Diogo have definitely outdone themselves in this regard.
To me, the new design evokes content management and computing both in the past and the future… classic and modern at the same time. A timeless design as an ideal way to communicate what we’ve always intended as a timeless tool, ProcessWire.
— Ryan
The site has been under development for a while now, but it has also been a big project, as our website is a pretty complex one — home page, docs section, modules area, blog... you name it. It is quite likely that some things will still need fine-tuning, but that's perfectly fine: first version is live, which means that we can start iterating on it.
Be sure to check out the website yourself, and let us know what you think! If you spot any issues, don't hesitate to report them — or if you'd just like to say that you enjoyed the design (or didn't enjoy something about it), that's perfectly fine as well. Feel free to submit your feedback as comments on the announcement blog post, or via the support forum.
Huge thanks to Jan and Diogo of KONKAT Studio for their dedication to this project. We are extremely lucky to have such a fantastic community, where talented individuals and companies support ProcessWire and donate both their time and effort to push it forward!
Weekly poll: do you use AI development tools?
For our latest weekly poll we have a topic that seems to have been on everyone's lips lately: AI development tools. It seems that some developers simply love them, some are strongly opposed, and some have yet to experience their full potential.
Our question this week is essentially: where do you stand in accordance to such tools? Do you use them, particularly in your ProcessWire related work, or not? Feel free to add some context via the comments section of the weekly issue if you'd like to — it'd be very interesting to hear how and where such tools are utilized in ProcessWire projects, as well as why some might be avoiding them.
As always thanks for taking the time to answer!
Feel free to check out the poll archive for results of our earlier polls. All suggestions for future polls are more than welcome too. Thanks in advance for both your answer here and any additional suggestions or feedback you might have.
Site of the week: Liikuntavinkit.fi
Our latest site of the week is called Liikuntavinkit, which is Finnish for "exercise tips" or "sports tips". This site, which is managed by Suomen Liikunnan Alueet ry, is first and foremost a collection of video guides for exercises and exercise oriented games for children, mainly geared towards parents and professionals organizing sports for children.
The project is funded by the government program "Suomi likkeelle", which aims to turn exercise into growth in every age group.
The Liikuntavinkit website is split into various categories, and videos are tagged with category specific tags — such as age groups, suggested location for the activity, and the purpose of the activity. Behind the scenes both primary categories and tag groups are fully customizable, meaning that the scope could be expanded later with ease.
This site was designed and developed by the team at Vitec Avoine. The front-end of the site was largely custom-built using SCSS and a BEM structure, with Vue.js powering the filtering tool, and Bartender.js and boringmenu.js providing some handy drop-in user interface elements. As for non-core ProcessWire modules, some of these include Wireframe, PrivacyWire, ProFields Repeater Matrix, and ProCache.
Our congratulations to the team at Vitec Avoine, as well as the client, Suomen Liikunnan Alueet ry, for their new, ProcessWire powered website!
