The 593rd issue of ProcessWire Weekly brings in all the latest news from the ProcessWire community. Modules, sites, and more. Read on!
Welcome to the latest issue of ProcessWire Weekly! In this week's issue we're going to check out what's new for the core this week, introducing a new development version of ProcessWire, 3.0.252. And, in other news, we're going to introduce a brand-new third-party ProcessWire module called Show Image Custom Field Errors.
As always we've also got a new site of the week to highlight. This week that site belongs to Carneros Resort and Spa, which is a resort location with cottages and private houses, as well as a spa and wellness service provider, located in the Napa Valley of California. More about this gorgeous site in just a bit, so keep on reading.
Thanks to all of our readers for being here with us again, and as always, any feedback is most welcome – please don't hesitate to drop us a line if there's anything in your mind you'd like to share with us. Enjoy our latest issue and have a great weekend!
Latest core updates: ProcessWire 3.0.252
This week we've got a brief weekly update from Ryan at the support forum, introducing the latest development version of ProcessWire, 3.0.252. This version, and the commits from the past week in particular, are mainly about minor optimizations and bug fixes:
- A fix for issue #2119, where some CSS style rules in the new Konkat admin theme style were causing potential slow-downs for the admin interface.
- A fix for issue #2130, where the
$input->cookie->set()
method was setting wrong default lifetime for cookies, one week instead of session length. - A fix for issue #2131, where the
WireHttp::send()
method didn't clear previously sent data properly on consecutive requests, causing potential issues. - Fix for an inputfields.js issue related to addHeaderAction() and tooltips.
- Optimizations for the regex matching queries in DatabaseQuerySelectFulltext.
Minor adjustments and fixes in AdminThemeUikit Konkat default theme.
An update for text inputfield notes for pattern attribute, referencing MDN for further instructions, instead of a now-defunct old pattern site.
Ryan is going to be away for next week so we likely won't have too much to share about core updates then, but we'll be back with more updates right after that.
That's all for our core updates section for this week, but be sure to check out the weekly update from Ryan, and keep reading for other ProcessWire news and updates. Thanks!
New module: Show Image Custom Field Errors
Show Image Custom Field Errors is a brand-new third-party ProcessWire module by Robin Sallis. As the modules directory entry for this module states, it makes custom fields for images visible when there is an error — for an example you have left some required field empty, or there are invalid field values.

By default image fields using a grid layout (square or proportional) hide custom fields, which makes it difficult to figure out the exact source of the error. This module forces image fields to the list mode when an error is detected, making it much easier to spot and consequently fix the error.
If you'd like to give this module a try, you can install it via the built-in modules manager in the admin, or clone or download the module's source code from the Show Image Custom Field Errors GitHub repository. If you have feedback or require additional assistance with the module, head down to the Show Image Custom Field Errors support forum thread.
Big thanks to Robin for creating this module and sharing it with us!
Site of the week: Carneros Resort and Spa
Our latest site of the week belongs to Carneros Resort and Spa from the heart of Napa Valley, California. They offer accommodation options ranging from cottages to private homes, combined with a variety of dining options and wellness services. In addition to individuals and families, they also cater for various types and sizes of events, such as weddings, corporate meetings, and conferences.
At Carneros Resort and Spa, the line between outside and in disappears, replaced by the gentle light of the vineyard, fresh air, and the easy rhythm of a slower pace. Here, luxury isn’t loud. It’s found in thoughtful details, private cottages, and moments that feel instinctively yours.
— Carneros Resort and Spa
The Carneros Resort and Spa website was created by Zambezi Marketing. It looks quite amazing, and makes great use of video and photo material of the resort and their vicinity; when you've got views that amazing, you pretty much have to show them off. As for content and features, this is a pretty detailed site, covering the accommodation options and experiences available in plenty of detail. Reservations are handled in a separate service, but there are very nice embedded reservation elements on the site.
As for some behind the scenes details, the front-end of this site appears to be based on the Uikit front-end framework, with a few familiar JavaScript utilities, such as jQuery and Hotel Datepicker. As for third party or non-core ProcessWire modules, the only one that we could spot on the front-end of this site is the commercial Pro module Form Builder.
Thanks to the Zambezi Team for sharing this project with us, and our congratulations to the client, Carneros Resort and Spa, for their new, ProcessWire powered website!
