Weekly update from Ryan
This week there are no new core updates to cover, but we do have a new weekly update from Ryan at the support forum. In his update Ryan talks a bit about a new project he's currently working on: an AI tool for streamlining and, to an extent, automating the resolution of ProcessWire issue reports.
Basically, I'm looking to automate the issue resolution process so that I can have a group of round-robin agents working on them at any time of the day, and then I can come in and review them with an overseeing AgentTools agent and tell it to either "apply and reply" or "send back for a different solution".
— Ryan
In his post Ryan also talks a bit about the business side of ProcessWire, particularly the store feature, and how it might evolve in the near future.
That's all for our core updates section this week. For more details, be sure to check out the weekly update from Ryan at the processwire.com support forum. Thanks!
New module: Tickets
Tickets is a recently released third-party ProcessWire module from Maxim Semenov. As the modules directory entry for this module explains, it adds private (customer) support conversations feature to a ProcessWire powered site, complete with account and guest requests, staff workflows, attachments, automation, reports, and notifications.
[Tickets module] is made for product sites, member portals and service organizations that need support operations inside ProcessWire without exposing conversations or private files publicly.
— Maxim Semenov
Tickets is essentially a feature-rich ticketing system. Here's a sneak peek into what this module can do:
- Private support tickets for both guests and authenticated users. Guest users can access their tickets with hashed links, without the need to register first.
- Replies, timestamps, staff-only notes, attachments, and workflow history are all kept in one place.
- Supports ticket statuses, assignments, bulk actions, ticket merging, SLA targets, routing rules, reusable replies, scheduled automations, and more.
- Has an admin area for customer support staff, complete with statistics and charts — including operational charts, reports, and customer satisfaction ratings.
- Provides reusable custom forms with validation, live preview, and rich-text embeds, as well as PHP API, JSON REST API, and local JSON CLI channels.
There's actually quite a lot more as well, so be sure to check out the modules directory entry for full details.
If you'd like to give this module a try, you can clone or download the source code from the Tickets repository at GitHub, or install the module via the built-in modules manager in the admin. If you need additional assistance, have questions for the author, etc. head down to the Tickets support forum thread.
Big thanks to Maxim for creating this module and sharing it with us!
Site of the week: Chatham Bars Inn
Our latest site of the week belongs to Chatham Bars Inn, a historic, oceanfront luxury resort at Cape Cod in Chatham, Massachusetts. Originally founded in 1914 as an elegant hunting lodge for wealthy Bostonians, the 25 acre estate has since evolved into one of Cape Cod’s most iconic destinations.
Today, this family-owned coastal landmark blends historic charm with modern luxury following a transformative renovation, offering refined accommodations, elevated dining, and exceptional amenities. Recognized with numerous prestigious awards and global accolades, the Inn continues to set the standard for luxury hospitality on Cape Cod.
— Chatham Bars Inn
The Chatham Bars Inn website features a beautiful design and various interesting layout choices, combined with plenty of quality content and detailed information about the inn — accommodations, dining options, activities, as well as a rather lengthy section about the inn's history. All in all this is a beautiful and very functional site that serves its purpose: it looks great, makes the location sound downright amazing, and provides a lot of useful and interesting information for would-be visitors.
As for some behind the scenes details, the front-end of the Chatham Bars Inn website is built on top of the Uikit front-end framework, and makes extensive use of the framework's various dynamic features as well. Additionally there are some elements of the htmx library included on this site, while on the ProcessWire side of things we could spot at least two familiar non-core modules: Pro modules FormBuilder and ProCache.
Our congratulations to Chatham Bars Inn for their new, ProcessWire powered website!
