The 648th issue of ProcessWire Weekly brings in all the latest news from the ProcessWire community. Modules, sites, and more. Read on!
Welcome to the latest issue of ProcessWire Weekly! With Ryan travelling, we don't have new core updates to share this week, but we are going to take a closer look at a couple of newly released — and very interesting — third-party modules: FormBuilder GPT-Live from Clip Magic, and Kontor from Maxim Semenov.
As always we've also got a new site of the week to check out. This week that site belongs to the Karlsruhe, Germany based consulting firm Mailänder Consult. More details about their ProcessWire powered website in just a bit, so keep on reading.
Thanks to all of our readers for being here with us again, and as always, any feedback is most welcome – please don't hesitate to drop us a line if there's anything in your mind you'd like to share with us. Enjoy our latest issue and have a great weekend!
New module: FormBuilder GPT-Live
FormBuilder GPT-Live is a new third-party ProcessWire module created by Clip Magic. This module builds on top of the commercial FormBuilder module from Ryan, adding a voice assistant for your forms.
With a voice assistant visitors on your site can explain what they need in their own words, answer follow-up questions, and watch their answers appear in the form. The form remains usable in its regular state as well, so there's no need to choose one or the other. In other words the module turns this:
My name is Fred. You can email me at [email protected]. I’d like an appointment next Tuesday morning, and my dog needs a wash and trim.
... into a prefilled form with name, email, and other relevant choices populated. If anything is unclear, the assistant can make follow-up questions, or ask the user to input values manually. User can then check the result, make manual adjustments, and submit the form.
For this module to work, your ProcessWire site needs to have FormBuilder and AgentTools modules installed, and a compatible OpenAI agent configured. The module comes with a detailed guide for how the module works and how to set it all up.
If you'd like to give this module a try, you can clone or download it from the FormBuilderProcessorGPTLive GitHub repository, or install it via the built-in modules manager in the admin. If you have questions or feedback for the author, head down to the FormBuilder GPT-Live support forum thread.
Big thanks to Clip Magic for creating this module and sharing it with us!
New module: Kontor
Kontor is an open-source modular ERP, CRM, and business operations platform built as a ProcessWire module. Created by Maxim Semenov, this is a pretty huge module: it includes 35 components that share a single, audited core — and one permission-aware admin workspace — while still remaining independently installable.
A core idea behind Kontor is flexibility: it isn't meant to force your site into a specific, strictly defined business application. You can install just the components a project needs, while your own templates, URLs and design remain under your control.
Business software should become part of the ProcessWire site, rather than forcing the site to become part of a separate business platform.
Here's a list of features that Kontor provides:
- Customers and revenue: contacts, companies, CRM intake, leads, pipelines, catalog, quotations, orders, invoices, payments and allocations.
- Operations: inventory, purchasing, expenses, projects, tasks, collaboration, files, documents, mail and customer portal.
- Finance and localization: double-entry ledger foundations and German business-document support.
- Platform: queue, cache, search, reports, dashboards, workflows, automation, custom entities and settings migration.
- Integration: authenticated REST resources, OpenAPI, webhooks, GraphQL and a scoped MCP provider for agent workflows.
- Optional intelligence: provider-neutral AI summaries, drafting and extraction with approval boundaries.
The role of the main module (Kontor) is to provide the shared foundation for the system: it owns the service container, database migrations, audit logging, backups, import/export, and the component registries. The ProcessKontor module builds the admin experience by combining domain traits, while the business rules themselves stay in the packages that own them.
For more details about individual parts of Kontor, check out the docs/PACKAGES.md file. If you'd like to take a closer look at the overall architecture, as well as responsibilities and dependency relationships between individual parts of the bundle, check out docs/KONTOR-SPECIFICATION.md.
If you'd like to give this module a try, you can clone it from the Kontor GitHub repository. If you have questions or suggestions for the author, or require assistance getting started with the module, be sure to visit the Kontor support forum thread. Note that 1.0.0 is the first public release, and the author recommends treating it as a testing release, so try it out on a development or staging copy of your project first if possible.
As always, thanks to Maxim Semenov for creating this module and sharing it with us!
Site of the week: Mailänder Consult
Our latest site of the week belongs to Mailänder Consult, a leading German engineering and technical consultancy firm based in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Founded in 1986, the company employs over 250 specialists — including engineers, natural scientists, and architects — and provides consulting, planning, project management, and construction supervision services. They specialize in transport infrastructure, civil engineering, architecture, environmental planning, and land management.
The Mailänder Consult website was created by designconcepts GmbH, and features a beautiful, modern design with various interesting visual elements and visualizations, as well as plenty of quality content. The site provides information about the company, including their services and history, and has handy filterable views for project showcases and news articles.
As for some behind the scenes details, the front-end of this site is powered by the Uikit front-end framework, with an integrated cookie consent solution from Usercentrics. When it comes to the ProcessWire side of things, there's one familiar non-core module that we could spot: the commercial caching and minification solution ProCache.
Our congratulations to Mailänder Consult for their ProcessWire powered website, as well as the team behind this project at designconcepts GmbH for a job well done!
